bdnews24.com :Two Rural Electrification Board (REB) officials in Gazipur have been suspended after a programme, attended by the prime minister, was hit by power cut.Sheikh Hasina was attending the 16th anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University.The power outage hit the programme shortly after the Prime Minister inaugurated several establishments at around 10am, halting the programme for about 10 minutes.REB Chairman Brig Gen Moin Uddin suspended its Gazipur unit Manager Md Jahirul Islam and Deputy General Manager Khan Md Borhan Uddin.Gazipur REB’s Chhayabithi zonal office Deputy General Manager Noor Mohammad has been made the acting general manager.”Additional power load caused the breakdown of university’s circuit breaker, which led to the power outage,” Mohammad told reporters.
