Two people were shot dead allegedly by some extortionists after being failed to realise extortion money at Bhagdi
Moholla in Narsingdi municipality area on Wednesday evening.
A group of extortionists had been demanding money from Rafique Khandaker, a resident of the area for long.
Being failed to realise the extortion money, the extortionists equipped with arms attacked Rafique in front of his house around 6:45 pm.
Sensing danger, when Rafique’s nephew Khokon Khandaker, 32, a businessman, along with his driver Arif Khandaker, 35, rushed to the spot, an altercation ensued between the extortionists and Khokon.
At one stage, the criminals opened fire at Khokon and Arif, leaving them critically injured.
They were rushed to Narsingdi District Hospital where the doctors declared them dead.
