Business Report :
Biman Bangladesh Airlines has added two more planes in its fleet. The two Dash 8-Q400 aircraft reached Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport from Egypt on Friday, according to a handout of the Civil Aviation Ministry.
After months of negotiation with the Egyptian Smart Aviation, Biman has finally been able to acquire the two Dash 8-Q400s aircraft for five years under dry lease, as it has no small aircraft to carry passengers on domestic routes.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will officially inaugurate the long-awaited domestic flight expansion today.
Apart from increasing its flights on the existing domestic routes, Biman from Monday onwards will start flight operations between Dhaka and five more domestic destinations – Cox’s Bazar, Jessore, Rajshahi, Syedpur and Barisal.
