Two minor cousins drowned in a pond in Chatmohar upazila on Sunday.
The deceased were identified as Bina Khatun, daughter of Abul Kalam, 6, of Katakhali village in the upazila, and her cousin Hafsa Khatun, 6, daughter of Mahir Uddin of Rajshahi.
Locals said Hafsa came to the house of her grandfather (mother’s father) at Katakhali from Rajshahi a few days ago.
Hafsa along with Bina fell into a pond by the house at noon unnoticed while playing.
Later, family members recovered their bodies from the pond.
