Two brothers of Phulbari border area in Kurigram were electrocuted when they were playing in the evening on Wednesday (March 17). The deceased were identified as Al Amin (11) son of Mominul Haque and Azimul Haque (7) son of Azidul Haque of Naodanga village of the upazila. They were cousin. Deceased Al Amin was a student of class five and Azimul Haque in class one in Balatary Govt. Primary School.
Local sources said irrigation in the land was going with power pump and the electric connected from the house of one Abu Bakar Siddique which was fallen on the earth. The two brothers were playing. Suddenly they touched with the live electric wire and became senseless. They were immediately taken to Phulbari upazila Health Complex where the attending doctor Fazilatunnesa Bonna declared as dead.
Chairman of Naodanga UP Mosabber Hossain Musa admitted the incident and told that the incident was informed to concerned thana police.DGM of Kurigram-Lalmonirhat Pally Biddut Samity Mostafa Kamal said the matter will be investigated. If the electric connection was illegal, lawful action will be taken.Officer-in-charge of Phulbari police station Rajib Kumar Roy said, hearing the news police forces were sent to the spot. Necessary measure will be taken after discussion with their relatives
