Two minor boys drowned at Kaptai lake of Vandaripara area under Borkal upazila of the district on Sunday evening.
The victims were identified as Sakib, 7, son of Sabuj Miah and Mamun, 6, son of M Hashem of Dangripara village of the upazila. Police and local sources said they were playing beside the lake. Later, they drowned in the lake when went to the water body for taking a bath after playing.
Police recovered the bodies with the help of locals in a floating condition after a hectic search and sent to Rangamati General Hospital morgue this morning. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Borkal thana M Abdul Gafur confirmed the incident.
