‘2 million jobs created in IT sector’

State Minister for Information and Communication Zunaid Ahmed Polok has said that in the last 13 years, 20 lakh jobs have been created in the IT sector. By 2025, the export income from the ICT sector will be 5 billion. In the same period, 3 million people will be employed in the ICT sector.
He was speaking to reporters after laying the foundation stone of Sheikh Kamal IT Training and Incubation Center at Ghior in Manikganj on Sunday.
The state minister said remote villages are being brought under fiber cable to boost export earnings and employment. 7 lakh IT freelancers, 3.5 lakh e-commerce and hardware software have been created in this sector. I am exporting 1.4 billion dollars every year from this sector. I will be able to create employment for one thousand boys and girls in the IT sector every year.
The state minister further said that if the people come to power by voting in the next parliamentary elections like the last three times, I will take Bangladesh towards a modern smart and innovation by solving the remaining problems.
Local MP AM Naimur Rahman Durjoy, Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Abdul Latif, Superintendent of Police Golam Azad Khan, Managing Director of Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park (Grade-1) Bikarna Kumar Ghosh along with officials of various government departments and district Awami League leaders and workers were present on the occasion.
