2 madrasa students crushed under bus in Barishal

Two madrasa students were killed and six others injured as a bus rammed a three-wheeler on the Barishal-Dhaka highway in the Kashipur area of ??Barishal city on Saturday night.
The deceased were identified as Md Hamza, 11, son of Md Zafar of Mathbaria in Pirojpur district and Al Noman, 13, son of Akhtaruzzaman Hafiz of the same area. Both of them were students of Hefaz department in Tahfizul Quran Madrasa in the Kaunia area of ??Barishal city.
Barishal Metropolitan Airport Police Station OC Kamlesh Chandra Haldar said the dead and injured children were students of the Hefaz department at Tahfizul Quran Madrasa in Kaunia area of ??the city. Akhtaruzzaman Hafeez, a teacher of the madrasa, along with his two sons and five students went to the waz mahfil (religious sermons) at Sarsina Darbar Sharif in Nesharabad, Pirojpur. They were returning to Barishal city in a three-wheeler from Mahfil around 9:30 pm on Saturday. In addition to them, there were two other passengers in the three-wheeler.
He added that a Dhaka-bound bus of Sakura Paribahan rammed the three-wheeler in the area adjacent to the Kashipur Medina petrol pump, leaving all passengers of the three-wheeler injured. Later, pedestrians rescued the injured and admitted them to Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital, where Hamza and Al Noman died in the night.
Meanwhile, the bus driver and his associate fled the scene after the accident.
