2 killed in Pabna AL faction’s clash: 15 bullet injured

Two persons were killed and 15 others received bullet injuries in clash between two rival groups of Awami League (AL) centering to establish the supremacy ahead of the upcoming national election and occupying pieces of sands fieldat Bhara in Pabna Sadar upazila on Monday evening.
The deceased have been identified as Laskar Khna, 70, son of Gaher Khna and his cousin Malek sheikh, 45, son of Ahmed Ali, from Bhaudanga village of Bhara Union of the upazila, reports our Pabna Correspondent quoting Jalal Uddin, Officer-In-Charge (OC) of Pabna Sadar Police Station.
Ibne Mizan, Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) of Pabna said, ” Supporters of Sultan Sheikh and Akkas Sheikh engaged with clash focusing establishing the supremacy on pieces of sands field and upcoming nationals polls. The each and other group carried out attacked on them with fire arms following a long quarrel in the area around 6:30pm.”
During the clash Lankar and Malek died on the spot and 15 others received bullet injuries, the police official said.
The injured men were rushed to local private clinics to avert the arrest, he said.
Bharara UP Chairman and Sadar Upazila AL Organizing Secretary Abu Sayed said that Sultan group carried out the attack to spoil the polls atmosphere by containing an ill motive. Deceased Laskar’s son Sultan Ahmed said that Akkas Seikh and Abu Seyed’s supporters set fire on our house in 2016 and they killed my father and uncle yesterday (Monday).
Sultan’s nephew Ratul Hasan said that Seyed Chairman shot to death my grand father.
