UNB, Khagrachari :
Two people were killed and 17 others injured in a head-on collision between two buses at Baillachhari in Guimara of Matiranga upazila on Wednesday.
Police and witnesses said the accident took place when a bus from Feni collided head-on with the Chittagong-bound bus of ‘Shanti Paribahan’ around 1pm, leaving 19 people injured.
Later, 11 of the injured were whisked off to Khagrachari Sadar Hospital where on-duty doctors declared Sirajul Islam, 28, and Kabir Hossain, 26, respectively driver and the helper of the bus of Feni, dead. Rest of the injured were taken to Matiranga Upazila Health Complex and later shifted to Chittagong Medical College for better treatment, said Officer-in-charge of Guimara Police Station M Mustafizur Rahman.
