A truck driver and pedestrian were killed as a covered van hit a parked truck in Nabiganj upazila of Habiganj on Tuesday .The deceased were identified as truck driver Sohel Ahmed, hailed from Debidwar upazila and pedestrian Nanu Mia, son of one late Abdus Sobhan, hailed from karimpur village of Chunurghat upazila. Three others were also injured in the incident.
Locals said the accident took place on Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Rokonpur area while the truck driver and helper were repairing their truck on the side of the road. A covered van from opposite direction suddenly hit the truck leaving one killed and four others injured.
Shaistaganj highway police station OC Jasimuddin Khandakar told that the injured were taken to Habiganj sadar hospital.
