Two persons were killed in a gunfight with the Detective Branch of Metropolitan Police at Satarkul of Uttar Badda on Thursday.
The deceased have been recognized as Nurul Islam, 30, and Amit alias Dada, 35. They were suspected to have killed Awami League leader Farhad Hossain.
A team of DB police raided a construction building on the Satarkul-Beraid Road in Projapoti Garden area at 2:00am, said Deputy Commissioner (north) of Detective Branch Mashiur Rahman.
Sensing the presence of the police, the criminals opened fire and triggered a gunfight. Police recovered the bodies, two arms and bullets from the spot, DC added. Police assumed that the deceased physically took part in the Farhad Hossain killing mission.
Earlier on June 15,Farhad Hossain, 52, General Secretary of Badda union Awami League, was shot to death by unknown assailants in the city’s Uttar Badda area while coming out of Baitus Salam-Jame Mosque after offering Jumma prayers.
