2 killed in city wall collapse

At least two persons were killed and another was injured when a part of the boundary wall of an under-construction building fell on them in the capital’s Nodda area on Sunday afternoon.
The deceased have been identified as Shamsuddin, 65, and Ripon.
Their bodies were sent to the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) morgue for an autopsy.
Injured fruits trader Milon has been admitted to the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (NITOR), popularly known as the ‘Pongu Hospital, police said.
Gulshan Police Station Officer-in-Charge (Investigation) Salauddin Mia said, “When the victims were demolishing the wall around 12:45pm, a part thereof collapsed, leaving the duo dead on the spot.”
Additional police personnel were deployed in front of the building named Siraj Garden No. 75 in the Nodda area, the police official said.
Legal Action will be taken against the building owner, the OC said.
