Two men were killed in two separate road crashes in the city on Friday morning.
Sub-inspector Md Julhas, in-charge of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) police camp, said a vehicle ran over Md Habibullah, 24, while he was crossing the road at Technical intersection in Mirpur around 5:15am, leaving him critically injured.
As locals whisked off the injured to DMCH, doctors declares him dead. Meanwhile, two people, including CNG-run auto-rickshaw driver Kalu and his passenger Ahmed Ali, 50, were injured as the vehicle was hit by a truck from behind at Matuyail intersection in Jatrabari area around 6:30am, the SI added.
As locals rescued the duo and took them to DMCH doctors declared Ahmed Ali dead.
