UNB, Chittagong : Customs officials at Shah Amanat International Airport in Chittagong arrested two people along with a total of 26 gold bars weighing about three kilograms on Friday night. The arrestees were identified as Selim Uddin, hailing from Fatikchhari of Chittagong, and Towhidul Islam, from Cox’s Bazar. Mashiur Rahman Mandal, assistant commissioner (customs) at the airport, said customs officials at first recovered 24 gold bars from Selim around 8:45pm searching his body and luggage, and later the rest two bars from Towhidul in the same way. Both Selim and Towhidul arrived at the airport by a flight of ‘Fly Dubai’ from UAE. A case was filed in this connection.
