Two Habiganj Razakars Mohibur Rahman alias Boro Miah, 65, and his cousin Abdur Razzak, 63, on Thursday filed appeals against the verdict of The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-1 that had sentenced Mohibur to death and Razzak to imprisonment until natural death for war crimes.
“They filed the appeals with the concerned department of the Appellate Division with Joynul Abedin Tuhin as their advocate on record,” said M Masud Rana, who moved their case before the tribunal.
Earlier, on June 1, the ICT-1 handed down death penalty to Mohibur and sentenced his younger brother Mozibur Rahman alias Angur Miah, 60, and paternal cousin Razzak to imprisonments until death for committing crimes against humanity during 1971 Liberation War at their neighborhood in Habiganj district.
