Miscreants tried to rob a branch of Rupali Bank in Bogura’s Gabtali upazila early Tuesday by throwing acid and stabbing two Ansar security guards but they failed to break the bank vault.
The injured security guards Masud Rana (28) and Habibur Rahman (25) are now undergoing treatment at Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital in Bogura.
The robbers stabbed Masud Rana and threw acid on Habibur Rahman, our Bogura correspondent reports quoting police.
Sabina Yasmin, assistant superintendent (Gabtali circle) of Bogura police, said two robbers entered the bank after breaking open the rooftop door at Sabekpara in the morning.
Sensing their presence, Habibur and Masud caught one of the robber’s red handed.
