A court here on Thursday sentenced a bus driver and his helper to life term imprisonment in a case filed for molesting a girl in their moving vehicle last year.The court also fined both Tk 50,000 each and in default to suffer three years more in jail. The convicts were identified as bus driver Dipu Miah, 32, son of Atrab Hossain of Gurki village, and helper Kashem Miah, 26, son of Bindu Miah of Dulapara village. Both hail from Manikganj sadar upazila.AKM Mostafa Dewan, judge of Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal of Manikganj, handed down the verdict. According to the case statement, Dipu and Kasem violated a garment worker in their moving bus on the Dhaka-Aricha Highway in Manikganj Sadar upazila on January 24 last year, and dropped her at a local bus terminal. A case was filed following the incident and police arrested Dipu and Kasem..After examining the witnesses and evidence, the court pronounced the verdict in presence of Dipu and Kasem.
