At least two female police members were killed and 26 others were injured in a road accident in capital’s Fakirapul area early Sunday. According to sources, a truck hit a bus carrying policemen at Fakirapul Intersection at around 6.15am, leaving two dead on the spot. The deceased were identified as Aklima (25), daughter of Golam Mostafa in Khirpur area of Kishoreganj district, and Munira (23), daughter of Bulu Mia at Bhabanipur village under Parbatipur upazila in Dinajpur. Some of the injured are Mili, Lija, Salma, Jesmin, Alfa, Sima, Sohaga, Farida and Shahnaj. The injured have been admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital and Rajarbagh Police Lines Hospital. Inspector General of Police (IGP) AKM Shahidul Haque and Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner Md Asaduzzaman Mia visited Dhaka Medical College Hospital to see the injured.—risingbd.com
