2 DU students get scholarship

Two meritorious students of the Institute of Disaster Management and Vulnerability Studies of Dhaka University (DU) have been awarded “Mirza Mohammad Abdullah and Begum Badrunnesa Memorial Scholarship” for their outstanding academic performances. The recipients of scholarship are Md. Abul Kalam Azad and Md. Rabiul Islam. Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Md. Akhtaruzzaman handed over scholarships to Azad and Islam as the chief guest on Tuesday at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban of the university. Treasurer of DU Prof. Dr. Md. Kamal Uddin presided over the function while Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Prof. Dr. Muhammad Samad, Dean of the Faculty of Social Science Prof. Dr. Sadeka Halim, Donor of the Trust Fund Prof. Dr. Mahbuba Nasreen, Member of the Trustee Board Dr. Mirza Md. Arifur Rahman and President of Dhaka University Alumni Association AK Azad addressed the function.
Assistant Professor of the Institute of Disaster Management and Vulnerability Studies Dr. Dilara Zahid conducted the programme. The VC in his speech called upon the students to play pioneering role in making Bangladesh a prosperous country.
