Two drug peddlers were arrested in separate drives by CMP police in the port city yesterday. Chandgaon thana police in a raid on secret information in Rahattarpol area at 11 pm on Friday detained Md. Abdul Karim(35). Police recovered 600 pieces of yaba from his possession after searching his body. Abdul karim, son of Kulaiya Miah of Hamidchar area under Chandgaon thana in city. A case under narcotics act lodged with the concerned thana, sources said.
Meanwhile Bakalia thana police of CMP rounded up one Abdul Hamid(50) from Karnaphuli bridge area under Bakalia thana after midnight of Friday . After searching a passenger bus of Saint Martin Paribahan bound for Chittagong from Coxsbazar. After searching the bodyof the drug trafficker, recovered 1000 pieces of yaba from his possession.
Acting on secret information, police conducted search in the bus and suspected the drug peddler inside the bus following his movement . A case in connection lodged with the concerned police , sources said.
