Two doctors of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on Wednesday scuffled in the operation theatre (OT) of Emergency Department about taking a decision when the patient was lying on bed.
The incident took place around 1:30pm. Hearing the incident, the DMCH director and principal intervened and resolved the dispute.
Reliable sources said, Dr. Sawkat of Surgery Department started arguing with Dr. Ibrahim of Anesthesia Department on giving local anesthesia to a female patient who was made prepared for a surgery in her esophagus.
At one point the argument turned into scuffle between them while the patient was lying on the bed of Operation Theatre.
Then the senior physicians rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.
DMCH Director Brigadier General AKM Nasir Uddin and Principal Professor Khan Mohammad Abul Kalam Azad along with other senior physicians held an emergency meeting following the incident.
They stressed on establishing discipline in any situation.
