At least five persons including two college students were killed and several others critically injured in separate road crashes across the country on Wednesday.
In Habiganj, two people, including a college student, were killed and seven others seriously injured when a motorcycle collided with an auto-rickshaw in Baniyangchaye of the district on Wednesday.
The accident occurred on the Habiganj-Baniachong Highway beside Atukura in Baniachong on Tuesday night.
The deceased identified as day labourer Mukhles Miah, 35, and Shakil Miah, 18, a student of Brindaban Government College of the district.
Masuk Ali, Officer-in-Charge of Habiganj Sadar Police Station told the news to the media hat the accident took place when a motorbike hit an auto-rickshaw, leaving nine people critically injured. They were taken to Habiganj Sadar Hospital, where Mukhles Miah succumbed to his injuries.
Later, four of the injured were transferred to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College and Hospital, where Shakil died while under treatment. In Narayanganj, a pedestrian named Monir Uddin Monir was killed when a motor bike rammed him at Boralo-Paragaown on Wednesday noon.
Mahamudul Hasan, Officer-in-Charge of Rupganj Police Station Confirmed the news to the media. In Bogura, a college student named Al Hadi, 20, was killed and another injured when a truck rammed into their motorcycle in Kahaloo upazila of Bogura on Wednesday morning. Deceased Al Hadi was a first year degree student of Dorgahat Degree College. He was a resident of Kalyanpur village under Narhatta union in the upazila. Kahaloo Police Station SI David Himadri told the matter to media. In Chapainababganj, a motorcyclist named Rahid Hossain was killed when a truck hit him in city’s Kolyanpur area on Wednesday afternoon.
