2 cases filed over Tabligh factional clashes

Two separate cases have been filed with the police station in connection with a series of clashes between two factions of Tabligh Jamaat for establishing control over Ijtema Maidan on the bank of Turag river.
Maulana Abdul Wahab, on behalf of Maulana Jubayer’s followers on
Monday filed a case with the Tongi West Police Station.
He filed the case against 28 known people and 100-150 unknown men under CrPC Section 143/448/323- 25/307/427, reports media.
On the other hand, a case was filed for obstructing police from performing their duties and attacking them during clashes between two factions of Tabligh Jamaat on the bank of the Turag river in Tongi on Saturday.
A Sub-Inspector of Tongi Police Station filed the case accusing 20-25 unidentified men on Sunday night, said Emdadul Haque, Officer-in-Charge of the police station.
On Saturday, a man was killed and more than 200 people were injured in a series of clashes between two factions of Tabligh Jamaat for establishing control over Ijtema Maidan on the bank of the Turag river.
