Two on-duty Bangladesh nationals were killed in Muharraq Governorate of Bahrain on Thursday, reports local media.
Interior Ministry of Bahrain confirmed the accident stating that the deceased – Billal Hossain, 32 and Younus Sikdar, 37 – were Bangladeshi nationals and the accident exactly occurred in the Dry Dock area of a ready-mix concrete plant.
However, the Foreign Ministry here is yet to provide any information about the accident.
Billal and Younus were killed on the spot after the concrete wall fell directly on them, the report quoted spokesperson of the
Bahrain Interior Ministry as saying.
Bahrain Labour Minister Jameel Humaidam, who visited the plant, said that the ministry will carry a thorough investigation into the incident.
According to a local newspaper – the Daily Tribune, a crane carrying a five-tonne piece of concrete accidentally hit the stored concrete blocks which in turn fell on the workers.
The report also claimed that Billal and Younus were working illegally in Bahrain. Both victims were working with expired visas for different employers.
