Two drug peddlers have been arrested from Nimtala Biswa road area under Halishahar thana on midnight of Wednesday . RAB forces recovered 80 thousands yaba tablets from their possession . the drug trafficker idendtified as Jahidul alam and his accomplice. RAB-7 commander Lt Col Mifta Uddin said they had recovered the yaba pills from a pickup van on Wednesday night acting on a tip off.These yaba s were carrying thorugh a mini pickvan . The men, whose identities have been withheld, were in the vehicle.
But Mifta Uddin said the two were associates of suspected yaba trafficker Jahidul Islam Alo. They were arrested on Dec 26 last year when Alo was arrested with 215,000 yaba pills and firearms.
The RAB officer said they would brief the media later on the incident.
Yaba has become popular in Bangladesh as the party drug since early 2005 because they enhance performance.
Bangladesh and northeastern India has become the destination for the yaba tablets from Myanmar’s infamous Golden Triangle, where even rebel armies like the United Wa State Army has taken to manufacture them in substantial quantities.
