Blogger Washiqur killing: 2 arrested suspects put on remand

A Dhaka court on Tuesday placed two suspects arrested in connection with the murder of blogger Wasiqur Rahman on a eight-day remand for interrogation by police.
 Mizanur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge of Tejgaon Industrial Area Police Station, produced the two Madrasa students in the court with a 10-day remand prayer. Metropolitan Magistrate Yunus Khan of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka granted remand for eight days’ after hearing. The students are Zikurullah, a Hathazari Madrasa student and Ariful Islam, a student of Dhaka’s Darul Ulum Madrasa in Mirpur.
Earlier, blogger and online activist Washiqur Rahman Babu, 27 was hacked to death by three youths on his way to office in the capital’s Tejgaon Industrial Area in broad daylight on Monday.
Two of the attackers were allegedly caught by the public and handed over to police. Both confessed their involvement to the killing during primary interrogation.
