Abducted two college girls rescued, fake DB police arrested and private car seized at Wazirpur of Barisal on Thursday night.
The rescued college girls were identified as Zannati Aktar Zemi, daughter of Zaman Mallik of Barisal BM School Road and her cousin Ferdousi Aktar Nupur, daughter of SM Yunus of Nazirpur under Baufal upazila of Barisal.
Both of them were students of HSC at Barisal Government Women’s College and Baufal Degree College respectively.
The two arrestees were Raiana Islam Shahida, 22, fake DB police and staff of a beauty parlor of Battala area in Barisal city and her associate Anis Haoladar, driver of a rented private car (no. Dhaka Metro Ga 11-3431) owned by Ali Haidar of Rangdhanu Rental Car at Shahid Minar area of the city.
The rescued college girls handed over to guardians of early Friday and arrestees with seized car handed over to Barisal Kotwali police station as spot of abduction was under their jurisdiction, said Golam Sarwar, officer in charge of Wazirpur police.
A case has been lodged against the arrestees by Zaman Mallik and they sent to jail on Friday, said Shah Md Awlad Hossain, officer in charge of Barisal Kotwali police station.
In the case it was alleged that the college girls when went to visit Muktijoddha Park on the bank of Barisal city On Thursday afternoon, they were abducted by fake DB police Shahida and her associates and brought to a residential hotel at Wazirpur by that car.
The abductors then demanded ransom from the guardians of the hostages and tried to flee from the scene snatching golden ornaments and mobile phones from the victims at about 10:00 Pm Thursday.
