Members of Border Guard Bangladesh recovered around 2.1 kg of heroin from Bakchar area in Sadar upazila of Chapainawabganj district on Friday noon.
Tipped off, a BGB team, led by patrol commander of Bakchar BGB camp Havildar Jahid Hossain, conducted a drive in the area around 1:45pm and recovered the contraband drug in an abandoned condition, said a press release signed by Sohel Uddin, commander of Rajshahi-1 BGB.
However, BGB members could not arrest anyone as the smugglers fled the scene sensing the presence of the border security force, the press release added.
