Rafika Akhter Jahan, the 1st female mayor of Saidpur Municipality, Nilphamari announced its budget of Tk. 131 crore for the financial year 2021-2022 without imposition of any tax.
The budget was announced on Monday (June 28th) in the newly constructed community hall room of Saidpur Municipality with the mayor in the chair.
The budget for the road & drain sector has been slightly increased. The Mayor sought the overall cooperation of the citizens in realizing the dream of a modern city and called for regular payment of taxes.
Secretary Siddiqur Rahman, Executive Engineer Ayub Ali and other female and male councilors of the Municipal Council addressed the function conducted by Councilor Jobaidur Rahman Shahin.
Also present at the budget session were Rabia Alim, Member of Parliament for Nilphamari-23 reserved constituency, Saidpur Upazila Parishad Chairman and Upazila Awami League President Mohammad Moksedul Momin, General Secretary Mohsinul Haque Mohsin, Zilla Parishad Member Principal Abdur Gafur Sarkar, former Upazila Parishad Chairman Adv. Obaidur Rahman, Acting President of Awami League Md. Rafiqul Islam Babu, General Secretary Md. Mozammel Haque and others.
Also present at the time were municipality officials and employees as well as Journalists from various print and electronic media.
