Immigration authority of Chittagong International Airport off-loaded about 198 middleeast bound passengers during last one year.
Airport immigration detained these passengers before boarding the aircraft of Biman Airlines, Fly Dubai and RAK Airways. Immigration sources said these passengers off-loaded due to carry of fake visa, convict in criminal case and dissimilarity of passenger photograph etc. Airport immigration police seized their passports and other travel documents also.
Airport sources said a number of unscrupulous travel agents and manpower brokers are misleading these innocent passengers with a motive of deceiving Tk.5 to 10 lakh from each with assuring them to send European countries via Middleeast.
Asstt Police Commissioner (Immigration) Mizanur Rahman told that about 198 passengers were off-loaded during last oneyear over different reasons. Sources further said 30 Hajj pilgrims were sent back from Jeddah Airport in last Hajj season suspecting their identity of Rohingya nationals. Similarly 20 Hajj pilgrims also sent back from Jeddah airport in 2012 for carrying fake Hajj visa, sources said.
