Court Correspondent :The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka on Saturday placed 18 members of Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing Islami Chhatra Shibir on remand in a case filed under the Special Power Act.Of the accused, Magistrate Sazzadur Rahman placed Jamaat’s Badda-unit chief, Fakhruddin Md Kefayetullah and his associate Md Shamim were put on a three-day remand each, while the remaining 16 accused persons were placed on a two-day remand each. Earlier on Friday morning, police detained the suspected leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing from Islamic International School, run by Shamsunnahar Nizami, the wife of former Jamaat Ameer and International Crimes Tribunal sentenced Motiur Rahman Nizami from the city’s Merul Badda area. They were detained during a raid in the Islamic International School.
