The Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh (Haab) on Monday said a total of 18 Bangladesh nationals were identified among those killed in the Mina stampede on September 24. Haab President Ibrahim Bahar confirmed the latest death toll to UNB over phone, saying some 90 more Bangladesh nationals remained missing so far and the death toll might rise further. Meanwhile, UNB Sylhet correspondent reports: Three members of a Bangladeshi family were found among the 769 pilgrims who died in the Mina stampede. They are Mahib Uddin Ahmed, 71, a retired food inspector and a resident of Uttar Bazar in Kulaura municipality area of Moulvibazar district, his wife Rabeya Begum, 60, and their younger son Jalal Uddin Ahmed Moni, 35, an official of Icddr,b. However, the Foreign Ministry here did not provide further information until 8pm Monday. On Sunday, it said the photographs of probable Bangladeshi victims of Mina stampede have been displayed in Bangladesh Hajj Mission, Makkah for the identification by hajj agents, relatives and acquaintances, said the Foreign Ministry here. Bangladesh authorities there identified three of its nationals among the 650 photographs released by the Saudi authorities of Hajj pilgrims killed in the Mina stampede. According to the report received from Bangladesh Consulate General in Jeddah, Saudi authorities have so far released the photos of 650 pilgrims who died in the stampede in Mina on September 24. Medical teams are working at various hospitals in Makkah and collecting information about missing hajjis. The Bangladesh Embassy in Riyadh and Consulate General in Jeddah along with the Hajj Mission are working to get further information and support the victims. Hajjis, their companions and relatives, hajj guides and agents have been requested to report about missing hajjis over 00966(0)537375859 and 00966(0)509360082.–UNB
