17,40,937 to sit for SSC exam tomorrow

The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and its equivalent examinations-2019 will begin on February 2 (Saturday).
A total of 17,40,937 regular students along with 3,91,054 irregular students will sit for the SSC and its equivalent examinations.
Students from 28,682 institutions will sit for the examination at 3,497 examination centres across the country.
Meanwhile, Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni in a press conference on Thursday said, a total of 5,47,386 students dropped out after their registration for secondary final examinations 2019 under 10 boards of education. She also informed that a total of 22,88,323 students had registered for sitting for the examinations when they were promoted to Class IX in 2017.
The minister sought assistance of all to hold the upcoming SSC and equivalent examinations in an atmosphere free from unfair means.
Among the total 21,35,333 SSC examinees in 2019 examinations, 10,70,441 are males and 10,64,892 females.
Comparing with 2018 examinations, the number of examinees increased by 1,03,434 under 10 education boards, number of institutions increased by 131, number of examination centres increased by 85.
The examinees are instructed to reach their exam venues and take their seats 30 minutes before the scheduled time, the minister said.
All sets of the question papers will be taken to the examination centres from the treasury on the examination date. Selected officials have been assigned to take the question papers to the examination centres from the treasury.
All concerned will be informed of the question set codes 25 minutes before the examination begins.
No one except the examination centre secretary will be allowed to enter the venues with any mobile phone or electronic devices. The examination centre secretary is allowed to use a mobile phone without camera function.
Theoretical examinations under general education boards will be held from February 2 to February 26 while the practical examinations will be held from February 27 to March 5.
For madrasa board, theoretical examinations will be held from February 2 to February 27 and practical examinations from February 28 to March 6.
For technical education board, examinations for theoretical papers will be held from February 2 to February 23 while practical examinations from February 24 to February 28.
The SSC and equivalent examinations will also be conducted at eight foreign centres – Jeddah, Riyadh, Tripoli, Doha, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Bahrain, and Saham.
