16th Asian Art Biennale 2014 begins Dec 1

Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) is going to arrange the largest fine arts related festival in Asia the 16th Asian Art Biennale from December 1.
The Asian Art Biennale, since it’s beginning in 1981, has attempted to display the kaleidoscope of various artistic endeavours of time in which continuity and change come together.
As a part of its continuation, the exhibition will begin at the National Art Gallery of BSA in the city’s Segunbagicha area.
Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith MP will be present as chief guest at the inauguration of the gala art event at the main auditorium of the National Theatre Hall of BSA on December 1.
Presiding over by Cultural Affairs Secretary Dr Ranjit Kumar Biswas Cultural Affiars Minister Asaduzzaman Noor MP will be also present as special guest on the occasion. Director General of BSA Liaquat Ali Lucky will give the welcome speech at the inaugural ceremony.
The month-long exhibition will be opened for all from 11:00am to 8:00pm except Friday from 3:00pm to 8:00pm till December 31. Some 104 artists of 30 countries’ 204 artworks will put on display in the exhibition. Therefore, 55 art critics and artists will also take part in the grand art event including seminars.
