Sixteen meritorious students of Jagannath Hall of Dhaka University (DU) were awarded “Jagannath Hall Trust Fund Scholarship” for their outstanding academic performances.
DU Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof Dr Md. Akhtaruzzaman distributed scholarships among the students as chief guest at a function held on Monday at the VC’s lounge of the university.
The recipients of scholarship are- Sujan Chandra Roy, Sujan Das, Elius Murmu, Pobin Chandra Barman, Palash Roy, Biplob Baroi, Dhaneswar Roy, Apu Datta, Shuvra Biswas, Partha Sarkar, Dulal Das, Tushar Sarkar, Joy Chowdhury, Milan Kumar Das, Mrinal Chandra Roy and Shourav Kirtiniya.
While addressing the programme, Prof Akhtaruzzaman urged the students to maintain a congenial academic atmosphere on the campus for making Bangladesh a prosperous country.
“Students have to equip themselves with moral values and patriotism to become worthy citizens,” he said.
Treasurer of DU Prof Dr Md. Kamal Uddin, Provost of the Jagannath Hall Prof Dr Asim Sarkar, Syndicate Member SM Bahalul Majnun, Acting Registrar Md. Enamuzzaman and House Tutors of the hall were present on this occasion.
