The total number of recovered patients from the deadly covid -19 rose to 14,946 with the curing of 88 more people in the last 24 hours in Chattogram district.The recovered patients were discharged from different home isolations and dedicated corona isolation hospitals of the district as two consecutive real-time PCR tests were found negative,” said Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi, Civil Surgeon of Chattogram.
A total of 287 people died from coronavirus in the district till today. A total of 54 people were detected positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours after testing 612 samples in five COVID-19 laboratories.
Among the newly detected patients, 49 are from Chattogram city and five from different upazilas of the district, hospital sources said.The total number of COVID-19 patients now stands at 18,860 only in Chattogram district till today,” Dr Rabbi added.Among the total 18860 coronavirus infected persons, 13402 are the residents of the port city and the rest 5448 are residents of different upazilas of the district. Besides, 1,284 patients are undergoing treatment at isolation units of different hospitals in the port city, the health official mentioned.The percentage of recovery rate stands at 79.24 percent in the district,” Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi, added.
