The 150 MW Simple Cycle (HSD based) Power Plant will be built in Botlagari of Saidpur upazila to provide uninterrupted power service.
Government will spend Tk one thousand crore to build the 150 MW Power Plant.
A discussion and view exchange of information on environmental and socio-economic impact assessment was held on Wednesday at noon.
The meeting was organised by the Center for Environmental and Geographic Information Services (CEGIS) at the Upazila Parishad Auditorium under the management of the Power Development Board. Chairman of the Upazila Parishad, Md. Moksedul Momin spoke as the Chief Guest.
Saidpur Upazila Executive Officer (Acting) Pirmal Kumar Sarkar Presided over the meeting. Center for Environmental and Geographic Information Service, Power Plant Expert Jalal Ahmed Chowdhury, Asst.Project Director, ANM Shamsuzzaman with many others took part in the open discussion and presented their views. Vice Chairman of the Upazila Parishad, Ajmal Hossain, Women Vice Chairman Sanjida Begum Lucky and Commander of Freedom Fighter, Ekramul Haque Sarkar also expressed their opinions in the open discussion.
Center for Environmental and Geographic Information Services (CEGIS), Power Plant Expert Jalal Ahmed Chowdhury presented information on various benefits of environmental and socio-economic impact about various advantages in setting up 150 MW Power Plant Project. He also cleared many questions of the speakers with his clear point of view.
Officials of various government offices, Institutional Heads of Educational Institutions, businessman, leaders, representatives of different NGOs, Journalists and representatives of different professional organizations were present in the meeting.
