15 surrendered pirates sent to jail in Bagerhat

Some 15 jungle pirates including their ring leader Raj belonging to Choto Raju Bahini of Sundarban forest who ceremonially surrendered to the Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal at Barisa on Thursday with a promise to give up piracy for good and to return to the normal life with 21foreign and home made fire arms and 1 thousand 2 hundred 37 rounds of live ammunitions were sent to Bagerhat jail hajat on the Friday noon by Asif Akram, the Chief Judicial Magistrate of Bagerhat when they were brought before the Magistrate.
On Thursday at night Sayeeduzzaman, DAD of RAB-8 registered a case with Mongla PS in Bagerhat distric t as a plaintiff against the 15 members of Choto Raju Bahini on the charge of committing piracy in Sundarban forest and under Arms Act. In connection with the case the jungle pirates were brought before the Chief Judicial Magistrate of Bagerhat on Friday and the learned Magistrate sent then into the jail hajat. The jungle pirates who were sent to the jail hajat are Md. Raju Molla alias Choto Raju (48), ring leader of Chot Rajui Bahini, Md. Monirul Islam (35), Md. Sirajul Islam Gazi (29), Md. Afzal Hossain (25), Md. Harun Rashi (38), Md. Billal Gazi alias Magic Billal (36), Md. Khatib Gazi alias Khatib (35), Md. Mikail Gazi (37), Md. Kamrul Sardar (39), Md. Farhad Sardar (26), Md. Slam Gazi (37), Md. Milon Shaikh (25), Md. Farhad Gazi (32), Md. Sabbir Shaikh (42) and Md. Monirul Gazi Moni (36). They all hail from the differnt places of Bagerhat, Khuln and Satkhir districts. It may be mentioned here that the members of Choto Raju Bahini, a notorious of gsng og jugle pirates of Sundarban forest had been dominating and committing piracy in the Eastern Sundarban Division (in Bagerhat district) and in the Western Sundarban Division (in Khuilna and Satkhira districts) for a long. With the surrender of Choto Raju Bahini as many as 107 jungle pirates belonging to some 10 gangs surrendered to the law enforcing agencies along with 216 fire arms and 11 thousand 3 hundred 80 rounds of live ammunitions during the last 10 months.
