At least 15 shops were burnt to ashes when a devastating fire took place at Narsingdi Bazar (Dhari potti) under Narsingdi Sadar Upazila on Monday.
Fire service souuces said the fire originated from short circuit of a shop and soon engulfed the other shops of the market.
Being informed Narsingdi fire service rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control after two hours .
The total loss was estimated at about Tk one crore.
