Aggyan party members robbed 15 cattle traders of Tk 2.5 lakh after making them unconscious by serving them toxic food in the Eastern Housing cattle market in the city’s Rupnagar area early Saturday.
The victims were cattle traders coming from Kushtia and Naogaon districts, police sources said. Md Amin, Manager of Eastern Housing cattle market said, 15 cattle traders fell sick after eating food served by unknown persons.
He suspected that the food might have been mixed with poisonous substance.
Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) Police Outpost Sub-Inspector (SI) Mozammel Haque confirmed the matter and said that the six victims were admitted to the hospital in a unconscious condition early Saturday.
