Chittagong district police in a series of drives detained 15 activists of BNP-Jamaat-Shibir from different upazilas of the district on Tuesday night and yesterday.
Naimul Hasan, Additional Superintendent of Police (Special Branch) of Chittagong district said they held 15 activists in overnight raids from various places of Hathazari, Mirsari, Sitakunda, Lohagara, Rangunia and Satkania Upazilas on Tuesday night and today.
Among the detainees, seven were Jamaat activists, one Islami Chhatra Shibir activists and seven BNP activists, the police officer said adding that they were detained to prevent possible acts of sabotage during country-wide blockade enforced by BNP-led 20 party alliance.
