14th National Theatre, Cultural Festival for Children ends

The 14th National Theatre and Cultural Festival for Children ends on Friday, which began on September 20, is jointly organised by Shilpakala Academy, and People’s Theatre Association.
It is cited to be the biggest theatre, and cultural festival for children in Bangladesh. Cultural organisations from 64 districts, and 95 children’s theatre troupe were participated in the festival ended on Friday .
Many plays and dance dramas were staged on Friday, the 8th day of the 14th National Theatre and Cultural Festival for Children, which is being held at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.
The Experimental Theatre Hall, starting from 5pm, five plays were staged on Friday . Scholastica, Uttara staged the play “Gorto,” which is based on a story written by Krishan Chandra. The production was adapted, and directed by Toufiqul Islam Imon. Kid’s Cultural Institute, Chittagong staged the play “Becharam Kenaram,” which is based on Kishore Ray Chowdhury’s story. This production was adapted by Asim Das, and directed by Dr Sourav Shakawat.
Director General of Shilpakala Academy Liaquat Ali Lucky adapted and directed the play “Raja O Rajdrohi,” which is based on a story by Rabindranath Tagore. It was performed by People’s Little Theatre, Dhaka. Another Tagore story was adapted for the stage, and the play was titled “Khyatir Birombona.” It was directed by Zinat Sanu Shagota, and performed by Anandam Dhaka. Magura district Shilpakala Academy’s children theatre troupe performed the play “Asangati,” which was written, and directed by Mohammad Minarul Islam Jewel.
A dance drama was also staged at the Experimental Theatre Hall, written, and directed by SM Rayhanul Alam, and presented by Supta Thita Dhaka.
Seven plays were staged from 5pm onwards at the National Music and Dance Centre Auditorium. Aroni Children’s Theatre Meherpur staged the play “Byathito Raater Boyan,” penned, and directed by Nishan Saber. Magic of Theatre Kushtia performed the play “Buddhir Dheki,” written by Hasan Shahriar, and directed by Bipul Rahman. Khulna Art School Theatre staged the play “Shustho Deho Shustho Mon” written, and directed by Tuhin Talukder.
Ramkrishna Mission School Theatre Dhaka staged “Debotar Grash,” adapted, and directed by Shubhasish Dutta Tonmoy from Tagore’s story. Ishtikutum Dhaka performed “Boka Chalak Chalak Boka,” written by Prodip Dewanji, and directed by Roushan Jannat Rushni. Children’s Theatre Art Academy Dhaka performed the play “Meghe Dhaka Tara,” written, and directed by Tareque Mohammad Ripon.
A dance drama titled “Manchitrer Jonno” was also staged in this auditorium. It was written, and directed by Mariam Sarho, and performed by Karishma Sangskritik Dal Dhaka.
