14-party to hold protest rallies against secret killings

The Awami League-led 14-party alliance has decided to hold protest rally in Rajshahi on May 15 and countrywide mass rally on May 24 against secret killings.
The programmes were announced by 14-party alliance spokesperson and Awami League (AL) Presidium Member Mohammad Nasim at a protest rally at Central Shaheed Minar here. “We would organise protest rally in Rajshahi and all other districts against those involved in secret killings in different parts of the country,” he told the rally organized in protest of secret killings carried out by BNP-Jamaat alliance well as their anarchism, terrorism and militant activities. Nasim said, “Begum Khaleda Zia has been hatching conspiracy against the state, but we, the 14-party, under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina have defeated the BNP-Jamaat’s conspiracies.” He said the 14-party under Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s dynamic leadership would resist Khaleda Zia’s destructive politics in the future. The 14-party spokesman, further said that the next general election would be held in 2019 despite BNP-Jamaat’s conspiracy, adding that they started secret killings to destabilize the country as they failed to postpone the January 5 election.
Awami League (AL) Presidium Member and Agriculture Minister Begum Matia Chowdhury, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal President and Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu were present, among others.

Workers Party President and Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon, Food Minister Advocate Quamrul Islam, Awami League Joint General Secretary Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif, AL Organising Secretary Ahmed Hossain, Shymabadi Dal General Secretary Dilip Barua, Dhaka City South AL General Secretary Shahe Alam Murad, Dhaka City North AL general secretary Sadek Khan, Convener of Communist Centre Wazedul Islam Khan were present, among others.
