14-party alliance brought out victory procession in Khulna

Hundreds of leaders, activists and supporters of Awami League led-14 party alliance brought out a victory procession in the city on Tuesday to win against England in the ICC World Cup 2015.
Most of the activists and supporters put on red and green dress, flags in hands, chanted slogans “Bangladesh, Bangladesh” and “Joy Bangla, Joy Bangabondhu” and “Sheikh Hasina go ahead, we are with you”, on the city’s streets thoroughfares.
The victory procession was paraded city’s important streets and ended at the party office led by lawmaker Mizanur Rahman Mizan. Sadar Thana unit AL also brought out separate victory procession in the city led by its president Advocate Saiful Islam.
Later, a rally was held in front of party office with AL general secretary Mizanur Rahman in the chair.
The 14-party leaders said “we are so excited that Bangladesh reached to quarterfinals for the first time. Bangladesh really played well. We hoped Bangladesh will continue its winning speed in the next matches.”
The leaders also condemned BNP’s blockade and hartals in the name of so called political movement.
Meanwhile, Khulna University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Fayequzzaman and KUET Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Muhammed Alamgir extended their heartiest congratulations to the national cricket team for knocking England out of World Cup to reach quarterfinal for the first time.
In separate messages, two VC’s greeted the national team players, manager, coach and cricket board officials for this success.
Bangladesh reached at the quarterfinals in the ICC World Cup beating England by 15 runs in their fifth group stage match at Adelaide in Australia.
