14 Indian fishermen held with fishing trawler

As many as 14 Indian fishermen were arrested by the coastguards from the Bay of Bengal along with a fishing trawler by the coastguards on Tuesday (December 10) on the charge of illegal intrusion in the water territory of Bamgladesh and catching fish from there.
 It is learnt from a source of the coastguards of the Western Zone deployed Mongla that on Tuesday in the early morning while a contingent of the coastguard was discharging their normal patrol duties in the Bay of Bengal found an Indian fishing trawler named FB Maa-Ambia-2 near the Fair buoy. Then they (coastguards) seized the trawler and arrested its all 14 fishermen. Later the coastguards searched the trawler and recovered one (1) thousand 2 hundred 20 kgs fish of different pieces, fishing nets and ropes. The arrested Indian fishermen hail from the different places of 24 Pargona (South) district of West Bengal in India.
Iqbal Bahar Chowdhury, Officer-in-charge of Mongla PS told, the arrested Indian fishermen and the seized trawler were handed over to Mongla PS by the coastguards. In this connection a case was registered with the PS and Indian fishermen were brought before a court at Bagerhat district headquarters and the court sent them to the jail hajat.
 It may be mentioned here that on the same charge 15 Indian fishermen were arrested on October 01,some 23 Indian fishermen were arrested on October o4, some 11 Indian fishermen were arrested on October 14, some 14 Indian fishermen were arrested on October 12 and some 14 Indian fishermen were arrested on December 10. Total as many as 77 Indian fishermen were arrested from October 01to December 10 from the Bay of Bengal by the coastguards of Bangladesh.
