Chattogram Bureau :
A Chinese origin industrial concern named Union Resources Engineering Co Ltd will build a 1320 Megawatt power plant at Mirsharai Economic Zone under Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Shilpanagar in Chattogram at a cost of Tk.27000 crores very shortly.
With the aim of constructing PP , the technicians and officials of the Chinese company visited the site of the proposed PP at MEZ on Tuesday and expressed satisfaction at it.
Among others, Mirsharai upazila chairman Alhaj Jasimuddin, Chief Finance officer of Chinese company Shi, country manager Lee, officer Shahed Iqbal, and the officials of HongKong, Ginshiang and Reliant Incorporation Ltd were present during the visit. Countlry Manager of the Chinese company said there will be two p ower plants each of 660 MWs capacity and this project will be implemented with joint collaboration of GOB.
He further said we will start construction of the plants if the BE ZA hands over land to us as early as possible. Upazila chairman told that huge power will be required for use within the Economic zone and the excess power will be transferred to National grid of PDB.
