At least 13 more persons, including five members of a bridegroom’s party were killed and several others critically injured in separate road crashes across the country on Saturday.
In Brahmanbaria, Five persons were killed and four more were injured as a microbus smashed against a roadside tree after losing control at Islampur of Bijoynagar upazila of the district..
The incident took place on the Dhaka-Sylhet Highway around 2:30 pm on Tuesday, according to Hossen Sarkar, Officer-in-Charge of Khati Hata police station.
The deceased were identified as Hasanuzzaman, 61, a resident of South khilgaon, Parosh Kanti, 33, Rijpn Salehin, 30, Apu Ahmed, 25, and Apu Ahmed’s wife, Chandan Kumar Chakrabarty, Officer-in-Charge of Madhabpur Police Station said.
All the deceased were the members of a bridegroom’s party and inhabitants of Dhaka.
In Thakurgaon, one motorcyclist named Danes, 38, died when a bus rammed him at Chhto Khochabari under sadar upazila of the district on Tuesday.
The deceased Danes was the son of one Surendu Nath of Dlorhat of the upazila.
Mafida Rahman, Station officer of local Fire Service confirmed the incident media.
In Bagerhat, one Asraf Ali Sheikh, 80, was killed when a bus hit him at Fakirhat upazila of the district.
The accident occurred at Khatakhali area under Fakirhat upazila on Tuesday noon.
In Jashore, a driver of local Alamsadhu named Probod Kumar Sarker was killed when a bus rammed his vehicle at Monirampur upazila of the district.
Abdul Azim, leader of Monirampur Fire Service and civil defense confirmed the matter to media. In Bogura, One bicyclist named Anisur Paikor was killed when a truck struck him at Shikerpur under sadar upazila of the district.
Khurshed Alam, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Bogura Sadar Police told the incident media.
In Bhola, a teenage boy named Tuhin, 12, was sandwiched between a truck and a bus in Ilisha ferry ghat area under Sadar upazila of Bhola district on Tuesday afternoon. Deceased Md Tuhin was the son of one Abdul Haque.
Sadar Police Station Officer in-Charge (OC) Sagir Mia told the news media.
In Chattogram, an unidentified person, 70, was killed when a truck pushed him at Dewan mor of the city. The accident took place around 6 am on Tuesday.

In Meherpur, One youth named Sajib Hossain, 22, was killed when he was driving a tractor at Cosba under Ganghi upazila of the district.
