In second round of National Vitamin A- Plus Campaign of the national immunization programme, about 13 lakh children were given Vitamin A capsules in the port city and elsewhere in the district.
Under this campaign, children aged from 6-59 months were given this capsules .
The feeding programme begins in the city under city corporation management and in the upazila level under civil surgeon, Chittagong from 8 am which ended at 4 pm without any break, CCC sources said.
The formal inauguration of the campaign held at CCC Memon Hospital in city and Hathazari Health Complex in the district.President of the CCC Health Standing Committee councilor Nazmul Hoque Duke told The New Nation that 5.30 lakh children were feed with vitamin capsule in the city in 1288 centres.
On the other hand, Civil surgeon office sources said through 600 wards under 200 unions of the different upazilas of the district, 6,68,372 children were given vitamin A capsule.
