13 killing in Ctg girder collapse Verdict yet to declare in nine yrs

Victim families of the Chittagong Bohaddarhat flyover girder collapse are yet to get justice after nine and a half years past.
13 people were killed after collapse of three girders from an under construction flyover in Bohaddarhat of the Chittagong city in 2012.
A case was filed on November 26 in the year 2012 against 25 persons responsible in the incident.
“The procedure of the case is in the ending stage. A final hearing of an witness will take place on October 3. We are trying utmost so that the responsible persons of the incident get the highest punishment,” said Additional Public Prosecutor of fourth Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge Court in Chittagong.
The accused persons included flyover project Director and Chittagong Development Authority (CDA) Executive Engineer Habibur Rahman, Project Manager Giasuddin, Supervision Engineer Manjurul Islam and contracting firm officers and staff Abdul Jalil, Aminur Rahman, Abdul Hye, Mossharraf Hossain, Shahjahan Ali and Rafiqul Islam. Police submitted charge sheets against eight people involved the incident on October 24 in 2013.
Engineer Delwar Hossain Majumder, former President of TIB, Chittagong also former President of Chittagong Engineers Institutions told journalists that miscreant people have dominated almost everything in the country so that the victim families are yet to get justice.
